Abstract:
A foil bearing (1) equipped with: a flexible cylindrical top foil (4), at the inner circumference of which is inserted a shaft member (2), with a radial bearing clearance (C) formed therebetween; a cylindrical support member (5) that is arranged at the outer periphery of the top foil (4) and elastically supports the top foil; and a cylindrical housing (3) at the inner circumference of which the top foil (4) and the support member (5) are housed. A porous cylindrical member is used as the support member (5).
