Abstract:
A foil bearing 10 having a foil 12, which has a bearing surface X, and a foil holder 11 supporting the foil 12. The foil 12 is elastically deformable, and sliding of the foil 12 and a member other than a shaft 13 being supported is allowed. Among the surface of the foil 12 and the surface of the other member, an uneven surface formed by a chemical conversion treatment is provided on one surface or both surfaces where sliding occurs.
