Description:

FOLDABLE SUPPORTING STRUCTURE

Technical field to which the invention relates:

Invention relates to field of architecture, construction and design and in narrow sense on foldable systems.

Technical issue:

How to fold or unfold two or more constructive elements.

State of the art:

I am not familiar with a single foldable system that, when folding uses combination of sliding and rotating way of folding/unfolding demonstrated on draft 1.

Essence of the invention:

Presentation of the substance of the invention:

The essence of the invention is that through horizontal sliding bars ("a 1-1) , ("a 1-2") placed from the left side of the bar ("2") and ("a 2-1") , ("2 - 2") placed from the right side of the bar ("2") along with bar ("2") and hinges from ("bl") to ("b8") placed in a way that they can enable bar ("2") movement in direction up-down, makes connection between 2 supporting elements (bar ("1") and ("3")) and a system that enables folding of supporting elements (bars ("1") and ("3")).

Essence of the invention is in that that it is possible to use all three axis, both in positive and negative direction of one cube for joining structure with supporting elements, so that structure can be continued in a desired dirrection and multiplied that ammount of times that is necessary in order to get desired shape of supporting frame and fold-unfold again at need.

Brief description of drawings:

-Draft 1, Figure 1

Frontal look of an example of folded structure

-Draftl, Figure 2

Frontal look of an example of unfolded structure

Detail description of invention:

Foldable supporting structure from example ("Draft 1") consists of:

- Three vertical vertical bars ("1") , ("2") and ("3");

- Four horizontal bars ("a 1-1") ; ("a 1-2") ; ("a 2-1") ; ("a 2-2"), each bar consists of two bars out of which whoom one is narrower and slides in to another one;

- Eight rotating elements (in example hinges, marked from ("bl") to ("b8") and

- Six border elements marked from ("cl") to ("c6").

Structure folds so that bar ("3"), across bars ("a 2-1") i ("a 2-2") slides towards bar ("2")

-then bar ("3") and ("2") slide towards bar ("1") across bars ("al-1") i ("a 1-2")

-then bar ("2") is moved upwards rotating horizontal bars ("a 1-1") , ( "a 1-2") and ("a 2-1") , ("a 2-2") in to a vertical pozition by which it additionaly attracts bar ("3") towards bar ("1").

Draft and it's description are given with idea to illustrate idea of discovery, therefore invention can change in details within area of patent request depending for what is construction intended. For example on bar ("3") we can connect whole frame from right side (or left, front / back), with exeption of bar one that many times that are necessary to obtain desired surface area of frame, in relation to need of the structure. Also whole frame can be placed in horizontal position and combined in desired scales. It is important to mention that bars ("3") and ("2") from upper and lower side can have wheels (in case that lenght of the bars extend from flor to the ceiling) which would through railes in the floor and ceiling and through wheel approach easier bar ("1") but they don't have to in case that construction is unfolded example on bar ("3") we can connect whole frame from right side (or left, front / back), with exeption of bar one that many times that are necessary to obtain desired surface area of frame, in relation to need of the structure. Also whole frame can be placed in horizontal position and combined in desired scales. It is important to mention that bars ("3") and ("2") from upper and lower side can have wheels (in case that lenght of the bars extend from flor to the ceiling) which would through railes in the floor and ceiling and through wheel approach easier bar ("1") but they don't have to in case that construction is unfolded by, per say middle of the wall, where vertical bars in folded and unfolded state would be fixed for wall itself (at smaller scale of bar profile)

Examples of structure application:

Structure can be applied at building or house from out side of the object, where with unfolding it would make possible extension of object or room and by folding it would return area to the yard so that in relation to seasons or need we can have yard or balcon in the summer and room in the winter. Except for outer side, we can build whole object from construction as well as only some walls or some rooms with which we achieve possibility of transforming object / rooms by need.

With construction we can make foldable chairs, desks, frames for bed, nightstands, three seaters, benches, two seaters and furniture in general as well as folding door, garage door, foldable sliding gates, walls, floors and series of other foldable products.

Procedure:

Important characteristics of the procedure are:

- Enabling of rotation of horizontal sliding bars (from ("a 1-1") to ( "a 2-2") through rotating elements (in example hinges from ("bl") to ("b8"));

- Sliding unfolding of construction through horizontal sliding bars (from ("a 1-1") to ("a 2-2")

- Rotating of horizontal sliding bars (from ("a 1-1") to ("a 2-2")) in vertical position by moving bar ("2") upwards while folding or rotating form vertical in to horizontal when unfolding by moving bar ("2") downwards

- Connecting of construction (frame) for supporting elements (in example bars ("1") and ("3")) - Phases of procedure are

- connecting of rotating elements (in example hinges ("bl") and ("b5")) on to the carrying surface (wall, beam, bar... (in example bar ("1"));

- connecting frame of the construction, which consists of horizontal sliding bars from ("a 1-1") to ("a 2-2") connected to a bar ("2") through rotating elements (in example hinges ("b2") , ("b3") , ("b6") and ("b7")), thus frame is being connected to bar one ("1") through rotating elements (in example hinges ("bl") and ("b5") and horizontal sliding bars ("a 1-1") and ("a 1-2") from left end of the frame.

- connecting bar ("3") from right side of the frame to the horizontal sliding bars ("a 2-1") and ("a 2-2") by rotating elements (in example hinges ("b4") and ("b8"))

- sliding attraction of construction by hollow parts of the horizontal sliding bars (from ("a 1-1") to ("a 2-2"))

- rotating of horizontal sliding bars (from ("a 1-1") to ("a 2-2") in to vertical position by moving bar ("2") upwards, as well as retracting element in initial position in goal of unfolding construction;

Each phase is performed in assembly of the construction or later in folding/unfolding of same.

Singled out elements can be prefabricated, where profiled bars would have openings wich in connection through wedge, perform rotation by hinge system. Vertical bars ("1") ; ("2") and ("3") at appropriate heights and horizontal bars openings for wedge from bottom or top side in dependance of desired direction of movement, where in inserting a wedge through those openings achives connection by hinge system, wich by bar ("2") can be screw, which forms a frame that mounts through openings on left and right end of the frame or horizontal sliding bars (in example places of openings of frame left ("bl") , ("5") and right ("b4") , ("b8")).

Heights are placed in relation to scale of element that we are moving or surface of folding that we wish to accomplish with frame.

Description of the construction solution:

- Construction is in example made out of vertical bars, horizontal sliding bars and rotating elements.

- If out of bars we make a frame in a shape of square, with two vertical bars and two horizontal sliding bars, and horizontal bars connect for vertical with hinges in desired direction of movement, accomplishes possibility of rotation of horizontal sliding bars and one of the vertical around other vertical, by up or down gesture (left - right if whole system is placed horizontaly), where in combination with sliding horizontal bars from example we accomplish saving of space or use of same if construction is unfolded, whereby same system of square can be applied also to the front and back side or up and down side of the frame where by multiplying we achieve wanted shape of the frame e.g cube, rectangle or more cubes...

- Construction in whole functions as liana whom we can unfold across walls, ceilings, floors in case we are working with smaller scale at manufacture of furniture and in case we are working with larger profiles like columns and beams functions like system through whom is possible to modify rooms / objects by need, dezire, purpose, design...

- Construction enables multi purpose rooms where we can from one wall extract for example elements of couch and two chairs with small table and from other wall bed with two night stands.

Enables unfoldable walls, floors, ceiling, unfolding bridges, supporting structure for terrace above or in folded state we can have open space of yard...

From construction can be made unfoldable halls, unfoldable temporary objects, unfoldable stages, unfoldable log cabins who fit in a truck and can be mounted at desired location, furniture can be made and series of other products as well as houses/buildings themselves.
