Title:
FOLDING BOAT TRAILER
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2013/019988
Kind Code:
A2
Abstract:
A folding boat having a T-shaped structure, capable of folding by means of folding supports which enable free movement of the structural parts, either the retaining studs, drawbar arms or rear axle shafts, so as to make its folding process much more practical and faster, as well as for more comfort while carrying it by means of the inclusion of a secondary axle for wheel coupling once the trailer has been used, thus obtaining a much smaller structure size after folding than when unfolded.

CLAIMS

What Is claimed: is:

L A folding boat trailer with a drawbar having a proximal end to hold and carry the: trailer and a distal end ;to which a moving rear wheel assembly is attached,, with coupled wheels at the ends thereof, featuring attac ments between sections and retaining studs for such boat, wherein the frailer comprises:

A T-shaped folding: support atsueh: distal end of the drawbar arm through which it is attached to suc rear ¾iheel assembly, suc drawbar distal end and its respective inner ends of both rear axle shafts of such moving rear wheel assembly of the drawbar being attached by articulated joints to such T- shaped folding support, each of those rear axle shafts being attached to on of the upper wings of the T in a folding way ttierearound, and such drawbar distal end also being attached in a folding wa to the arm of the T,

At least one middle folding support located at a middle portion of the drawbar,

At: least one retaiping. stud bn. each outer end of each of those axie shafts,

Such drawbar forming, with such at least one T-shaped folding support, with such at least one middle folding support and such at least one retaining stud, a fully folding: trailer struetu ,

2. Th folding trailer of claim 1 , wherein the wings and arms of the T of such at least one T-shaped folding support comprise U-shaped sections, and each ing and arm of the T has at least one lockifig bolt at its corresponding edge.

3. The folding trailer of plasm 1, wherein such at least one middle folding support comprises U-shaped cross section, coupled with the center of the: drawbar, where suetl: at least one; middle folding support includes at least distal ends are interconnected by means of at least one ax one rotating cylinder is coupled.

SUPPLEMENTARY 'CLAIM

1. A folding.. boat trailer with a drawbar having a proximal end to hold and carry the trailer and a distal end to whic a moving rear wheel assembly is attached, with coopledi thereof, featuring attachments between sections and retaining studs for such boat, wherein the trailer comprises:

A T-shaped folding support at such distal end of the drawbar arm through which it is attached to, such, rear wheel assembly, such drawbar distal end and its respective inner ends of both rear axle shafts of such moving rear wheel assembly of the drawbar being attached by articulated joints to such T- shaped folding support, each of those rear ax!e shafts being attached to one of the upper wings of the T in a folding way therearound, and such drawbar distal end also being attached i a folding way to the arm of the T,

At least a middle folding support located at a middle portion of the drawbar,

At least a retaining stud on each outer end of each of those axle shafts,

Such drawbar forming, with such at least one T-shaped folding support, with such at least one middle folding support and such at feast one retaining stud, a fully folding trailer structuie.

Description:

Figure 2 shows the folded trailer structure.

Figure 3 shows the abovementioned folding supports in further detail, with their res seQtlve feat res and location within the trailer structure.

Figure 4 is a cross sectional wiew of the corner folding support.

Figure shows the unfolded trailer structure on the corner folding support, before being folded.

Figure 5-B shows the direction in which the structure is articulated and folded on the corner folding support.

Figure 8-Ά shows the unfolded trailer structure on the T-shaped folding support.

Figure 8-8 shows the direction in which the structurai parts are articulated and folded on the T-shaped folding support.

Figure 7~A shows the unfolded trailer structure on the tilted, folding. support.

Figure 7-B shows the direction In which the structure is articulated and folded on the tilte folding support.

Figure ~A shows the unfoldect trailer structure on the middle folding support.

Figure 8-B shows the direction in which the structural parts are ar eulated and folded on the middle folding support

Figure ¾ shows, in accordance with an alternative embodiment of the invention, an unfolded pivoting support coupled with one of the structural studs.

Mow, wit referenc to the Figures, i can be seen that the invention consists of a folding trailer, whose folding is obtained by articulating its parts by rneans of the abovementioned folding supports.

Figure 1 shows the folding trailer structure in unfolded position, which
