Abstract:
Provided is a folding method for stably folding an absorber while maintaining the shape of an absorbent material. The folding method relates to a method for folding an absorber (40), which includes an absorbent material and has a longitudinal direction and a width direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, while conveying the absorber (40) along the longitudinal direction. The absorber (40) includes a first low basis weight region (42a) that extends in the longitudinal direction and a pair of high basis weight regions (44) that adjoin both sides of the first low basis weight region (42a) in the width direction. The folding method includes a folding step of folding the absorber (40) along folding lines (FL1a, FL1b) that run along the first low basis weight region (42a) in an area between the pair of high basis weight regions (44).
