Description:
SPECIFICATION

FOLDING ROOF SYSTEM FOR PERGOLAS AND TENTS

TECHNICAL FIELD

The invention is about the system which uses panels at specific sizes instead of fabric on pergolas and awnings with folding roof mechanism and allows multipurpose use; so it protects the places from the outside environment or can be opened when desired and can be used as a solar panel at the same time.

More specifically, the invention is about the system which shows more functional opening and closing feature and allows the ceiling to be opened or closed completely and/or at a desired opening, by using panels with particular dimensions instead of fabric on the pergolas and awnings with folding ceiling system, in order to protect the places they are applied against the summer and winter conditions.

State of The Art

I n the technique for the systems with a folding ceiling, opening and closing of the ceiling is provided by moving back and forth the awning fabric which is attached to cars moving in the side carrier by being transmitted power from the engine.

Especially opening and closing of the folding ceiling is provided by folding the profiles with certain spaces, the flexible materia l located on the roof by means of. Mobility is transmitted from the motor to the carrier cars. The car is enabled to move at a certain direction in the side carrier awning profile, so the ceiling can be opened or closed when desired .

The purpose for folding tents is to protect the places by closing in cases of bad weather, rain or intense sun and to allow to open in appropriate cases and when desired.

They are positioned with the aim of providing protection according to the weather conditions without completely cutting interaction of places with the external environment. Ceilings are completely opened in sunny weather to provide air circulation and interaction with the environment and they are completely closed in bad weather to protect the places.

I n the systems currently used, specially manufactured foldable fabrics are used on the ceiling part, in order to ensure the ceiling to be opened by folding and without occupying more space.

I n such systems, the fabric is stretched between the profiles with certain space, carrier cars are positioned at the end of profiles for moving in one direction, the fabric is provided to be folded through profile spaces without occupying much space, and so the ceiling is provided to be opened when desired and to be closed by stretching the fabric again .

I n the current application, the ceiling can be opened fully, half or at a certain opening. As folding can be made one-way, extra sun breaker panels are placed according to location of the place, in order to prevent the sun lights to come directly especially at sunny weathers. As the folding mechanism runs together with all of the mechanism, limited opening and closing can be achieved. Examining the current applications and the relevant references, the features of folding ceilings are achieved by means of fabrics.

There were no folding ceiling systems which have different features according to particular weather conditions and which have multifunctional adjustable opening and closing features.

Development of more simple and effective solutions has become essential as the ceilings are movable, fabric is used in the current technique, curls and laps occur, physical structure of the fabric changes according to the weather conditions, expansions and contractions occur, methods used negative effect the cost of production and require additional assembly operations and are inadequate, it requires to be supported by additional apparatus according to the weather conditions, the mechanism has much risk of failure, of necessitated.

Detailed Description of the Invention

The invention is about the pergola and awning systems which are more functional and simple, can be opened at a desired opening, do not need blinds and can be adjusted according to environmental conditions by using panels (10) instead of fabric.

In the inventive system, originally designed panels (10) are used instead of the fabric used in the current technique, for the folding ceilings. Engine 1 (20) provides back and forward motion of the carrier car. Engine 1 (20) is connected to the belt wheel (80) with the transmission rod 1 (20.1). The force created at engine 1 (20) is transmitted to belt wheel (80) via transmission rod 1 (20.1) and by rotating the belt wheel (80) the carrier cars (90) connected on the belt can be moved back and forth on the motion bar 1 (40), in the side profile (110). Motion bar 1 (40) is connected with all of the carrier cars (90) in the side panel (110) and the carrier cars (90) can move backward and forward on the entire motion bar 1 (40).

Each panel (10) is connected with the carrier cars (90) located opposite in the side panels (110). Carrier cars (90) are connected with the belt. With motion of the belt, carrier cars (90) are able to move backward and forward on the motion bar 1 (40).

By means of pulling and pushing forces applied by the engine 1 (20) and transmitted by the belt, the panels (10) can be piled up on one side or fully opened or fully closed or can be opened or closed at a desired opening.

Carrier cars (90) are connected with motion bar 1 (40) through slot 2 (90.3). Carrier cars (90) move back and forth on the motion bar 1 (40). By this movement they create back and forth movement of the panels (10).

Engine 2 (30) creates the force which allows the panels (10) to rotate around themselves and it is connected with motion bar 1 (40) via transmission rod 2 (30.1). Motion bar 1 (40) moves wheel 1 (60) in each carrier car (90) to right and/or left around itself, as wheel 1 (60) is connected with wheel 2 (70), the movement transmitted to the motion bar 2 (50) which is connected with panel (10), via wheel 2 (70) and the panels (10) can rotate around themselves at a desired amount. Motion bar 2 (50) is connected with carrier cars (90) through slot 1 (90.2).

All panels are provided to rotate at the transmitted and desired direction.

The system is multi-functional and can be opened and closed when desired or piled up at one side, by back and forth motion and simultaneously rotation around themselves of the panels (10).

All of the panels (10) make the same motion and perform opening, spacing or piling up functions coordinately.

Engine 1 (20) and engine 2 (30) placed on the system are controlled via remote control. Opening at the same time or at different moments or activation according to the desired opening position can be provided by the instructions given by remote control. Opening and closing speed can be controlled by adjusting the engine power.

Panels (10) can fully rotate around themselves by means of motion bar 2 (50).

Panels (10) have a panel slot (10.1) on one side and a panel tab (10.2) the other side, in order to ensure full sealing during closing. During closing the panel tab (10.2) fits on the previous panel slot (10.1) and locking is provided, also panel tab (10.2) on other side of the same panel (10) is locked on panel slot (10.1) of the next panel (10). In this way, the place can be closed to ensure insulation from the outside weather conditions. Light or water leakage is prevented by burning the panel (10) openings. Panel slots (10.1) also act as a water collecting groove and allow the water to flow out properly.

As a result of movements of the sun, sun light arrive the place at different angles during the day. Especially in the summer, ceiling of the place is opened for air flow and in order to ensure interaction with the environment. During opening, panels (10) can rotate around themselves at an angle, so they can be set and controlled according to incidence angle of the sun light.

Thus, there is no need to use an additional solar panel. The light coming in can be adjusted by rotating the panels (10) around themselves in a desired manner and at a desired space; also, as an opening is created and a grid view is obtained, the place can get air.

By remote control of the motor movements, panels (10) can move freely, be piled up at any side and opened at a desired opening. Panels (10) are positioned symmetrically with each other and in a way to perform the same movement.

Nor using fabric prevents deformation by time. Panels (10) are made of rigid material ensuring to be stable and the carrier cars (90) positioned opposite are provided ease of movement. This helps energy saving and fast operation of the system. Failure and maintenance costs provide ease of use.
