A folding-type portable counterfeit detector comprises a main body block and a counterfeit detecting unit. The main body block comprises a central block, an upper block and a lower block, wherein the upper and lower blocks are hingedly connected to both sides of the central block, respectively, to be folded on the central block or to be unfolded from the central block. Thus, the folding-type portable counterfeit detector can be folded and kept in a compact shape when not in use, and in this state, can be simply and easily carried. Accordingly, even common persons can determine whether a security product is genuine regardless of the time and place, so that the convenience of use can increase.
