Abstract:
Provided are a method of monitoring a freshness period of food and a refrigerator, the method comprising: recording a preset freshness period threshold of food (S101); by scanning a bar code, recording the food placed into the refrigerator by a user (S102); monitoring a storage time of the food placed in the refrigerator by the user (S103); determining whether the storage time of the food placed in the refrigerator by the user exceeds the freshness period threshold of the food material (S104); if the storage time of the food material placed in the refrigerator by the user doesn't exceeds the freshness period threshold of the food material, then maintaining the original state (S105); and if the storage time of the food material placed in the refrigerator by the user exceeds the freshness period threshold of the food material, then pushing food-material-outdated information to the user, and reminding the user (S106). With the method, the storage time of the food in the refrigerator is monitored by scanning the bar code. When the storage time of the food exceeds the freshness period, the refrigerator will actively push the food-expiration information to the user as a reminder, thereby protecting the health of the user, reducing the waste of food, and enhancing the users' experience when using the refrigerator.
