The purpose of the present invention is to provide a food processer such that, with a low-cost and simple structure, it is possible to detect a defect in a sealing function of a shaft-sealing device at an early stage and reduce the amount of foods which should be discarded due to the foods being processed in a period in which the sealing function of the shaft-sealing device might have been impaired. The food processer (10) is provided with: a food processing casing (20); a rotary shaft (30) inserted through a casing aperture; a shaft-sealing device (40) for sealing the space between the casing aperture and the rotary shaft (30); and a cooling mechanism (50) for supplying cooling water to the shaft-sealing device (40). The cooling mechanism (50) comprises: a cooling water supply source (51); a cooling unit (52) for supplying cooling water to the shaft-sealing device (40); a water storage tank (53) for temporarily storing the cooling water; and a water discharge unit (54). A turbidity sensor (60) for detecting turbidity of the cooling water is disposed within the water tanks (53).
