Abstract:
The present invention relates to a food waste disposer wherein: an opening/closing plate for closing a drain pipe is opened only during the operation of a motor, and thus the drain pipe for discharging water is usually closed to prevent the backflow of odor and sewage from the drain pipe; when the motor is reversely driven, the opening/closing plate is closed by the reverse driving of a propeller for forcedly discharging water in a case to the drain pipe, and water in the case is circulated by the rotation of gears of a grinding part, so as to allow the case to be automatically cleaned without a need to be disassembled by a user; a hopper is made of a magnetic material; and when the introduction of metal pieces is sensed by sensors, the operation of the grinding part is stopped to prevent the grinding part from being damaged by the introduction of the metal pieces into the grinding part.
