Provided is a footrest system for a vehicle such that when a footrest section is used during travel, an occupant seated in a back seat can brace the legs, and loads are prevented from concentrating on the heels of the occupant. The footrest system (38) is equipped with a reclining device (40) which rotates the upper end side of a seat back (22) in the direction of arrowheads (A) and holds the seat back (22) at a predetermined rotation angle; and a sliding device (50) which slides a front seat (16) with respect to a vehicle floor (14) in the direction of arrowheads (B). When the occupant (5) seated in the back seat (18) is to use the footrest section (48) on the seat back (22), the occupant (5) operates the reclining device (40), and tilts the upper end side of the seat back (22) in the forward direction of the vehicle. Furthermore, the occupant (5) operates the sliding device (50), and moves the sliding section (54) of a seat cushion (20) along a rail section (52) in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. In this state, the feet (5A) can be placed on the footrest section (48).
