Abstract:
Provided is footwear whereby it is possible to desirably carry out correction and stretching of a transverse arch of a foot. A transverse arch pressure part (7) which protrudes such that a cross-section in the width direction is an arc shape is formed between portions in a foot contact surface (5) of an article of footwear directly below the ball of the large toe (D) and the ball of the little toe (E), and a pair of runners (8, 8) which do not support the ball of the large toe (D) or the ball of the little toe (E) are formed in the foot contact surface (5) directly below the ball of the large toe (D) and the ball of the little toe (E). With this configuration, the load which is normally supported with the ball of the large toe (D) and the ball of the little toe (E) is applied to the portion which rests upon the transverse arch pressure part (7), and thus, the part which forms the transverse arch (F) is strongly pressed from below by the transverse arch pressure part (7) which forms the cross-section arc, and it is possible to carry out a correction and stretching of the transverse arch (F).
