Abstract:
Provided is footwear (1) comprising a sole (5) and an upper (10). The upper (10) includes a restriction fabric section (200). The restriction fabric section (200) includes expandable strands and restriction strands. If a tensile load acts on the restriction fabric section in a direction that causes the expandable strands and the restriction strands to expand, a restriction-side resistance index, which is represented by the ratio of an amount of increase in tensile stress relative to an amount of increase in an expansion rate of the restriction strands in a range in which the expansion rate of the restriction fabric section (200) is greater than a predetermined value, is greater than an expandable-side resistance index, which is represented by the ratio of the amount of increase in tensile stress relative to the amount of increase in the expansion rate of the expandable strands in the range in which the expansion rate of the restriction fabric section (200) is greater than the predetermined value.
