Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide forceps which enable a more intuitive operation for an operator and are thereby capable of achieving a reduction in surgery time. A forceps tip section (21) can be bent in two degrees of freedom in a bending direction and a bending angle. A drive section (22) generates a driving force toward the forceps tip section (21). A drive transmitting section (23) has a rod shape and transmits the driving force to the forceps tip section (21). An operating section (25) is capable of instructing the bending direction and the bending angle on the basis of an operation by the operator. A sensor section (24) detects an angle (α) in a direction of rotation about the axis of the drive transmitting section (23). A control section (12) controls the drive section (22) such that the forceps tip section (21) is bent in accordance with a predetermined target bending direction and a predetermined target bending angle. The control section (12) sets the bending angle instructed through the operating section (25) as the target bending angle and sets the target bending direction on the basis of the bending direction instructed through the operating section (25) and the angle (α) detected by the sensor section (24).
