Abstract:
The present invention relates to a foreign material detection method and a device and system therefor. A method for detecting a foreign material in a wireless power transmitter according to an embodiment of the present invention may include: a step for measuring a quality factor value in an operation frequency band to search for the measurement peak frequency at which the quality factor value is largest, when an object disposed in a charging area is sensed; a step for storing the measurement peak frequency and a measurement quality factor value corresponding to the measurement peak frequency; a step for transmitting information about a transmitter type to an identified wireless power receiver; a step for receiving a reference quality factor value and a reference peak frequency corresponding to the transmitter type; and a step for using at least one among the reference quality factor value and the reference peak frequency to detect a foreign material. Accordingly, the present invention is advantageous in that a foreign material can be detected more effectively and accurately.
