Abstract:
Provided is a forged billet which can produce a forged product (e.g. a wheel) having excellent and uniform mechanical strength, and also provided is a wheel which can be produced from the forged billet.
A cast billet (4) is produced by casting a light metal alloy and then subjected to pressure compression thus producing a forged billet (10), wherein the average particle size of the metal crystal particles based on the cutting method of JIS HO542 is 30 μm or less. Preferably, the forging ratio of the forged billet (10) is 3.5 or more.
