Abstract:

This forgery-proof medium (10) can be readily checked for authenticity and manufactured at a lower cost. The forgery-proof medium (10) comprises a support (1) that includes a portion (P1) having light transmitting properties, a phase-difference layer (2) facing the portion (P1) and including a plurality of regions (R1, R2) having mutually different slow-axis directions, and a polarized layer (3) facing the phase difference layer (2) at the position of the portion (P1). This forgery-proof medium (10) includes only the polarized layer (3) as the polarizer. That portion of the forgery-proof medium (10) where the portion (P1), the phase-difference layer (2), and the polarized layer (3) form a laminated structure has light transmitting properties.
