Abstract:
Provided is a forging method wherein it is possible to evenly supply a plurality of lubricants into a mold while improving productivity. The forging method involves: a shaping step in which a forging material within a lower die (11) is forged by driving a punch (15) into the forging material; a work piece transferring step in which a work piece (W) is transferred into the lower die (11) from a carry-in section and the work piece (W) in the lower die (11) is transferred to a carry-out section by means of a transfer mechanism (2); and a lubricant supplying step in which various types of lubricants are supplied into the lower die (11) by means of a lubricant supplying mechanism (3) while the work piece (W) is not placed within the lower die (11). The lubricant supplying mechanism (3) is provided with a lubricant spraying means which can move freely between a retreat position and a spraying position which is positioned above the operation region of the transfer mechanism (2) disposed above the lower die (11). The lubricant supplying step involves supplying a plurality of lubricants into the lower die by simultaneously spraying, at least temporarily, each of the plurality of lubricants from the lubricant spraying means.
