Title:
FORMATE DEHYDROGENASE MUTANT, AND USE THEREOF
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2013/176157
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A formate dehydrogenase mutant protein having a β-nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate-dependent formate dehydrogenase activity is constructed by introducing a site-specific mutation into a histidine residue located at position-224 in an amino acid sequence for a formate dehydrogenase mutant originated from Mycobacterium vaccae. The protein can exhibit a high formate dehydrogenase activity in the presence of an organic solvent. The mutant is useful for the production of an alcohol using a ketone as a starting material or the like.
