Abstract:
The present invention relates to a composition containing gelated formic acid with a polymer absorbent as the active ingredient for controlling Varroa mites and Tropilaelaps. More specifically, as a result of the finding that when a homogeneous gel formulation of a polymer absorbent and formic acid in a container with protrusions was administered inside a beehive, the formic acid volatizes at an appropriate concentration from the gel to effectively control and kill only Varroa mites and Tropilaelaps while being harmless to the bees inside the beehive, a method was developed in which a composition using formic acid gelated with a polymer absorbent to control and kill Varroa mites and Tropilaelaps is prepared and packed in a container with protrusions.
