Abstract:
The present invention relates to a forming apparatus and a forming method using a continuous shear deformation, and more particularly, to a forming apparatus and a forming method, which provide a new structure capable of extruding a material while applying a continuous shear deformation to the front portion of the material, thus decreasing forming load during extrusion and improving processability. According to the present invention, shearing force generated by a rotation is continuously transmitted to the front portion of a metal material in a mold during extrusion molding to thus apply a strong shear deformation not only to the surface of the metal material but also to the center of the metal material, thereby achieving ultra-grain refinement of the crystal grain at the surface and the center of the metal material. Thus, the strength at the surface and the center of the metal material is reinforced to achieve significant improvement in the overall strength of the metal material to undergo plastic deformation. Further, a continuous shear deformation is implemented to achieve effects of continuously mass-producing shear deformed materials without being restricted in the thickness and length of the materials. Particularly, the present invention has the effects of dramatically decreasing forming load during extrusion.
