Title:
FORWARD OSMOSIS DEVICE, AND FORWARD OSMOSIS METHOD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/043669
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
In order to improve osmosis devices, a forward osmosis device is provided with: a diluting means in which a feed solution and a draw solution containing an ionized cation source and an ionized anion source are brought into contact via a semi-permeable membrane, and in which the draw solution is diluted by using the water separated from the feed solution by means of the semi-permeable membrane; a separating means in which the draw solution diluted by means of the diluting means is separated into water and into the cation source and anion source; and a dissolving means in which the cation source and anion source that were separated by means of the separating means are returned to and dissolved in the diluted draw solution. The forward osmosis device is characterised by the anion source and the cation source each having a molecular weight of 31 or more as a non-charged object, and a Henry's constant of 1.0×104 (Pa/mol·fraction) or more in a normal state.
