Abstract:
The present invention provides: a forward osmosis membrane which achieves good water permeability, good rejection performance and good resistance against the counter pressure at the same time; and a method for producing a forward osmosis membrane, the method being capable of easily producing the above-described forward osmosis membrane. One embodiment of the present invention provides a forward osmosis membrane which comprises a porous supporting membrane and a separation function layer that is arranged on the porous supporting membrane, wherein: the porous supporting membrane is in contact only with the separation function layer; and the separation function layer is composed of a polyamide layer. With respect to this forward osmosis membrane, if the surface of the separation function layer is measured by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, the ratio (O533eV/N ratio) of the relative element concentration obtained by curve fitting centered at 533 eV in the O1s spectrum to the relative element concentration obtained from N1s spectrum is 0.29 to 0.53; and with respect to the IR measurement of the surface of the separation function layer, the ratio (IR1720/IR1650) of the peak top intensity at 1720 cm-1 to the peak top intensity at 1650 cm-1 is 0.25 or less.
