Abstract:
A foundry apparatus that is relatively compact and can be fabricated at low cost,
and that with respect to ingots of aluminum, etc. cast by multiple molds, ensures
secure removal of the ingots from the molds. There is disclosed an apparatus
for continuous casting of a melt of aluminum or aluminum alloy into ingots. The
foundry apparatus (1) comprises a rotary shaft (2) with a horizontal axial direction;
a rotor (10) adapted to rotate with the rotary shaft (2); multiple mold sections
(c) provided along both the circumferential direction and the axial direction
on the outer circumferential surface of the rotor (10); cooling means (15) for
cooling the mold sections (c), disposed in the interior (13) of the rotor (10);
and melt pouring means (30) disposed superior to the rotor (10).
