Abstract:

A four-cycle internal combustion engine has a gas containing chamber (100) communicating with an exhaust port (31) and containing combustion gas discharged from the combustion chamber. While an exhaust valve constructed from a valve section (32a) and a rod section (32b) is open in an expansion stroke, the combustion gas is allowed to flow into the gas containing chamber (100), and while the exhaust valve is open in an air intake stroke, the combustion gas contained in the gas containing chamber (100) is discharged to the combustion chamber.
