Abstract:
A four-way valve for a backflush filter system comprises a valve body (3) and a revolving spool (2) having a stem at an end of the central axis thereof. A spool port IV (16) is disposed at the other end of the central axis of the spool (2) which has three ports in the radial direction thereof: a spool port I (13), a spool port II (14) and a spool port III (15). The valve body (3) encasing the spool (2) has four ports: three radial ports including a valve port I (9), a valve port II (10) and a valve port III (11), and an axial valve port IV (12). By increasing the sizes of the relevant ports and by sealing end surfaces, the four-way valve resolves prior art problems of insufficient inlet flow during backflush of a four-way valve which reduces the effect of backflushing, a limited arrangement of the relative positions of the three valve ports, and sealing difficulties.
