Abstract:
Provided is a fragrance composition which can mask the odor of chlorine derived from hypochlorous acid. The fragrance composition has excellent durability against hypochlorous acid and does not adversely affect the disinfecting and deodorizing ability of hypochlorous acid, and, when sprayed into the atmosphere together with aqueous hypochlorous acid, can add a desirable flavor while reducing the odor of chlorine. A fragrance composition comprising an alcohol in an amount of 2 to 8% by mass, a fragrance component in an amount of 0.1 to 1.0% by mass, and a remainder made up by water, wherein cineol and menthol are contained as the fragrance component. The content of cineol and the content of menthol are 56 to 72% by mass and 7.5 to 17.5% by mass, respectively, relative to the whole mass, i.e., 100% by mass, of the fragrance component.
