Abstract:
A frame structure characterized by comprising the following, molded as a single piece: a resin frame member (A), the front surface of which is subjected to external loads; and a premolded fiber-reinforced resin sheet (B) that extends in the long direction of the resin frame member (A) and is disposed towards the back surface of the resin frame member (A) with respect to the middle thereof in the thickness direction thereof as seen from the front surface thereof. Also, an automobile component using said frame structure. Combining a thin fiber-reinforced molded resin sheet (B) with a resin frame member, which have conventionally consisted essentially of resin, and molding same as a single piece makes it possible to efficiently improve the mechanical properties of the frame member with respect to external loads and the like and inexpensively manufacture frame members that have desired properties while still being easy to mold. This frame structure can be used to provide an automobile component having a desired form.
