Abstract:

This free cooling outdoor unit comprises: a refrigerant circuit in which a refrigerant circulates and in which a compressor, a first heat exchanger, a throttle device, and a refrigerant-side flow channel of a first water heat exchanger are connected by piping; a brine circuit in which brine is circulated and in which a brine pump, a second heat exchanger, and a brine-side flow channel of a second water heat exchanger are connected by piping; a water circuit in which water is circulated and in which a water pump, a water-side flow channel of the second water heat exchanger, and a water-side flow channel of the first water heat exchanger are connected by piping; an air blower for blowing air to the second heat exchanger; a flow rate adjustment valve for adjusting the brine circulation amount of the brine circuit; a water temperature detection sensor for detecting the water temperature of the water circuit; an outside air temperature sensor for detecting the outside air temperature; and a control device that, when the outside air temperature is at a brine freezing temperature or lower, controls the brine circulation amount on the basis of the water temperature such that the brine temperature does not fall to, or below, the brine freezing temperature.
