Title:
FREE-CUTTING ALUMINUM ALLOY EXTRUDED MATERIAL HAVING REDUCED SURFACE ROUGHNESS AND EXCELLENT PRODUCTIVITY
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2015/030121
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to produce an Al-Mg-Si-based aluminum alloy extruded material that does not undergo seizure and has a smooth surface without deteriorating the productivity of the extruded material. An aluminum alloy billet is subjected to such a homogenization treatment that the billet is retained at 500 to 550˚C for 4 to 15 hours, the resultant product is forcibly cooled to a temperature of 250˚C or lower at an average cooling rate of 50˚C/hour or more, the cooled product is heated to 450 to 500˚C, the heated product is subjected to a hot extrusion procedure at an extrusion rate of 3 to 10 m/min, the resultant extruded material is forcibly cooled at an average cooling rate of 50˚C/second or more, and the cooled product is subjected to an aging treatment, wherein the aluminum alloy billet contains 2.0 to 6.0 mass% of Si, 0.3 to 1.2 mass% of Mg and 0.01 to 0.2 of Ti and also contains Fe in an amount of 0.2 mass% or less, with the remainder made up by Al and unavoidable impurities. In this manner, an extruded material of which the surface has a ten-point average roughness (Rz) of 80 μm or less can be produced.
