Abstract:
A free laying floor tile having a backing material for preventing the tile from slipping provided on the back surface thereof, wherein the backing material is prepared by solidifying a paste sol comprising a plasticizer and at least one of poly(vinyl chloride), a copolymer of vinyl chloride and vinyl acetate, and a mixture of poly(vinyl chloride) and poly(vinyl acetate). The free laying floor tile is improved in defects of conventional acrylic mechanical foams with respect to water absorption, the resistance to water and an alkali, and the strength of the foam.
