Abstract:
The present invention relates to a friction material which is either copper-free or has a copper content of no more than 0.5 mass% in terms of the copper element. The friction material contains inorganic fibers (X1) and shot (X2) of the inorganic fibers (X1), and the shot (X2) content is at least 0.2 mass% of the total amount of inorganic fibers (X1) and shot (X2).
