Abstract:

Provided is a friction stir welding device equipped with a friction stir welding tool (1) provided with a stationary-type shoulder (3) at the outer periphery of the basal end side of a probe (2), a main shaft positioning mechanism for moving the friction stir welding tool (1) relatively to a corner part (c) between workpieces (W1, W2), a control device therefor, and a filler supply part for supplying a filler to a stirring zone (s) in which the material of the workpieces (W1, W2) is stirred by the probe (2) during friction stir welding. When the probe (2) is immersed in the corner part (c) and friction stir welding is carried out, the stationary-type shoulder (3) is retained at a position separated by a gap (4) from the surfaces of the workpieces (W1, W2) by the control device.
