Abstract:
A friction transmission device (100) has a friction transmission mechanism (10) that transmits motive power via the contact between an extraction member (30) from which output rotation is extracted and a plurality of friction transmission bodies (20), the contact surface of the extraction member (30) being inclined in relation to the axial direction, wherein the friction transmission device also has an output member (78) for transmitting output rotation to a device to be driven, and a coupling (70) that couples the extraction member (30) and the output member (78). The coupling (70) is configured so as to deform in response to axial loads more readily than the extraction member (30) and the output member (78), and the coupling (70) has a function of absorbing axial misalignment of the extraction member (30) and the output member (78), and a function of converting torque exerted on the output member (78) to axial force and transmitting the axial force to the extraction member (30).
