Abstract:
The present invention relates to a fringe-field switching liquid crystal display device. In a liquid crystal display device according to the present invention, a unit pixel provides a main region and a sub-region, the main region and sub-region have different directions in which a horizontal electrical field is applied to liquid crystals with respect to the rubbing direction of the liquid crystals, and the main region and sub-region have different areas. According to the present invention, the high light efficiency and driving voltage characteristics of an FFS mode can be maintained, while resolution can be improved by minimizing the problem of color shift according to viewing angle, and light efficiency can be maximized by reducing the problem of a drop in transmissivity caused by a disclination line.
