Abstract:
A front plate for EL elements comprises: a light-transmitting substrate; a high-refractive index layer provided on a first surface of the light-transmitting substrate and having a higher refractive index than the light-transmitting substrate; and an electrically-conductive light-reflecting layer that is laminated on a section corresponding to a non-light-emitting area formed around an island-shaped light-emitting area, in the surface on the opposite side to where the light-transmitting substrate of the high-refractive index layer is provided, said electrically-conductive light-reflecting layer having conductivity and light-reflecting properties.
