Title:
FUEL BRIQUETTE AND A METHOD OF PRODUCING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/1996/017906
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The invention lies in essence in the composition of the proposed briquette, which contains a mixture of finely divided solid fuel and a solution of water-soluble organic binder enclosed in a closed combustible coating, the moisture content being 9 % and the volume of the consolidated mixture being equal to the volume inside the coating; the binder used is industrial sulphonic acid in the form of a 30-40 % aqueous solution of a sodium salt of methylene-naphthaline sulphonic acid or lignosulphonate. In the process of producing the fuel briquettes, fuel is mixed with the binder solution, the mixture is dispensed in measured quantities and wrapped in the closed combustible coating, and the briquettes are consolidated during storage, transport or heating, the latter including heating when burned in a furnace or during coking in a coking facility.
