Abstract:
Provided is a fuel cell catalyst composition containing a C12A7:X- inorganic material having a structure in which oxygen anions in C12A7 are substituted with halogen (X) anions, or a C12A7:X- inorganic material in which C12A7:X- has been partially converted to an electride. Also provided is a fuel cell containing the fuel cell catalyst composition in a catalyst layer. Also provided is a method for producing the fuel cell catalyst composition, the method comprising a step for heat-treating C12A7:X- at 1,000–1,300°C in a nitrogen atmosphere for 20 hours or more.
