Abstract:
The present invention provides a fuel cell catalyst that has a high power output characteristic, and suppresses a decrease in power generation performance due to start, stop, or load change, a production method therefor, a membrane electrode assembly for a fuel cell, and a fuel cell provided therewith. This fuel cell catalyst comprises at least a catalytic active species, and a carrier that supports the catalytic active species, wherein the catalytic active species is at least one type selected from the group consisting of platinum, a platinum alloy, and a core-shell catalyst obtained by covering a core of metal different from platinum with a shell containing platinum, the carrier is a carbon material, and the catalytic active species and/or the carrier contains a fluorine atom.
