Abstract:
It is possible to simultaneously suppress degradation upon start and degradation during a non-use period with a preferable balance therebetween. A control unit (30) stops a system operation by consuming air (oxygen) existing in an oxidant pole of a fuel cell stack (1) (oxygen consumption control).  After completion of the oxygen consumption control, the control unit (30) controls an intermediate pressure hydrogen valve (13) and a hydrogen pressure adjustment valve (14) to the closed state so as to hold hydrogen in a flow channel between the intermediate pressure hydrogen valve (13) and the hydrogen pressure adjustment valve (14).  During a system non-operation period, a predetermined amount of hydrogen (intermediate pressure hydrogen) held in a hydrogen supply flow channel (L1) between the intermediate pressure hydrogen valve (13) and the hydrogen pressure adjustment valve (14) can be supplied via a bypass flow channel (L2) to the fuel pole side of the fuel cell stack (1).
