Abstract:
In order to provide a method for improving the utilization rate of a fuel cell while using existing gas meters and gas leak detection systems already installed in family households, this fuel cell system (100) is provided with a fuel cell module (7) for generating electricity using a gas supplied via a gas meter (101), and a control unit (4) for controlling the generation of electricity by the fuel cell module (7). The fuel cell system (100) is characterized in that the control unit (4) controls so as to stop the generation of electricity by the fuel cell module (7) for a second predetermined time period when it is detected during a first predetermined time period that the gas being supplied via the gas meter (101) is not being supplied to any device other than the fuel cell module (7).
