Title:
FUEL CELL SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2011/010365
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a fuel cell system capable of suppressing the temperature change of a fuel cell under a low temperature environment after operation is stopped, preventing freezing due to dew formation, and ensuring reliable start-up after that. The fuel cell system comprises: a fuel cell (20) for generating electricity by an electrochemical reaction between air and hydrogen gas; a gas supply unit for supplying, by means of a compressor (A3) and a hydrogen pump (H50), air and hydrogen gas to an air supply path (71), a fuel supply path (74), and a hydrogen circulation path (75) all connected to the fuel cell (20); a cooling unit for cooling the fuel cell (20) by circulating, by means of a pump (C1), the cooling water cooled by a radiator (C2) in a cooling path (73) connected to the fuel cell (20); and a control unit (50) for, when it is determined that the temperature of the fuel cell (20) becomes below freezing point after the fuel cell (20) stops generating electricity, controlling the gas supply unit to perform a scavenging process for scavenging the insides of the air supply path (71), the fuel supply path (74), and the hydrogen circulation path (75) and controlling the cooling unit to perform a cooling process for cooling the fuel cell (20).
