Abstract:
Disclosed is a fuel cell that comprises a membrane electrode assembly, a separator (A) and a separator (B). The separator (A) comprises first gas flow paths (a1) and second gas flow paths (a2) adjacent to the first gas flow paths (a1) that supply a reaction gas to the membrane electrode assembly. The first gas flow paths (a1) and the second gas flow paths (a2) are mutually parallel and are disposed in an alternating manner. The area of the lateral cross section of the first gas flow paths (a1) is larger than the surface area of the lateral cross section of the second flow paths (a2). The separator (B) comprises first gas flow paths (b1) and second gas flow paths (b2) that supply a reaction gas to the membrane electrode assembly and are parallel to the first gas flow paths (a1) and the second gas flow paths (a2). The first gas flow paths (b1) and the second gas flow paths (b2) are mutually parallel and are disposed in an alternating manner. The direction the reaction gas flows inside the first gas flow paths (a1) and the second gas flow paths (a2) is the reverse of the direction the reaction gas flows inside the first gas flow paths (b1) and the second gas flow paths (b2).
