Abstract:
Provided is a fuel cell comprising a film electrode junction, a pair of gas diffusion layers that sandwich the film electrode junction, and a pair of separators that sandwich the film electrode junction and the pair of gas diffusion layers. The separators have ribs that form channels, which are gas flow channels, on the faces that oppose the gas diffusion layers. The occupied area ratio (Sc (-)) of the channel on the face opposing the gas diffusion layers and the thickness (t (μm)) of the gas diffusion layers satisfy the relationship expressed in formula (1): 0.9＞Sc≧55 (t-103)2/1000000+0.3… (1)
