Abstract:
This fuel consumption estimation system is provided with: a travel speed calculation unit (233) that stores a link travel speed (331) for each link, which is a road section constituting part of a road, in a travel speed database (252); and a travel speed extraction unit (243) that, on the basis of a travel route (411), extracts a link travel speed (331) of a link included in the travel route (411) from the travel speed database (252). The fuel consumption estimation system is also provided with a speed profile generating unit (244) that uses the link travel speeds (331) to generate a speed profile (441) indicating changes in the speed of an automobile traveling through the travel route (411), and an estimated fuel consumption calculation unit (246) that, on the basis of the speed profile (441), calculates the fuel consumption of the automobile traveling through the travel route.
