Title:
FUEL CONSUMPTION REDUCTION DEVICE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE AND FUEL CONSUMPTION REDUCTION METHOD
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2012/147216
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided are a fuel consumption reduction device, etc., capable of remarkably improving the fuel consumption of an internal combustion engine by using a comparatively simple configuration. The optimal absorption spectrum for vapor-phase water contained in intake air is induced by irradiation by a light-emitting diode, and vapor molecules develop violent vibration on the basis of three basic modes - stretching vibration, bending vibration, and symmetric stretching vibration. Accordingly, optimal spectrum irradiation using the light-emitting diode reduces conversion to a combustion-inhibiting factor (liquid-phase water), by causing that energy to be supported by vapor-phase water and by feeding same to a combustion chamber. In other words, even if same is taken in by the internal combustion engine cylinder, vapor pressure operates and reduces the negative effect thereof during combustion by the internal combustion engine, and greatly reduces fuel consumption. As a means therefor, LEDs to be pasted on the inside surface of an air passage on the air-intake side of the internal combustion engine are selected so as to radiate an electromagnetic wave having a wavelength of 500-1,450 nm for the light-emitting diode, these LEDs are provided so as to be capable of being pasted and of irradiating, and a shape whereby air passes through the middle of light radiated from these LEDs is selected. The fuel consumption reduction device comprises a light-reflective surface having a coating or plating in the internal space of the passage and capable of reflection, in order to cause these lights to function effectively.
