Abstract:

In the present invention, a fuel injection valve (12) is made to execute, in a predetermined operation region, a second injection (Q2) in which fuel is injected into a cylinder (2) during a compression stroke, and a first injection (Q1 (Q1_A, Q1_B)) in which fuel is injected into the cylinder 2 before the second injection (Q2) and during a compression stroke or an intake stroke. Further, in the case where a purge is being carried out, the fuel injection valve (12) reduces the total amount of fuel to be injected into the cylinder (2) compared to a case in which a purge is not being carried out, and the fuel injection valve (12) decreases the fuel reduction amount of the second injection (Q2) to be less than the fuel reduction amount of the first injection (Q1 (Q1_A, Q1_B)).
