Abstract:
A fuel injection apparatus (30) is provided with a leading end part (53) that injects a high-pressure fuel in a pressure accumulation container (32), into a combustion chamber (38) of an internal combustion engine (10) provided with an inlet port (12B) and an exhaust port (23B) disposed opposite to the inlet port and that is inserted into the combustion chamber between the exhaust port and the inlet port on an upper surface (38A) of the combustion chamber. The leading end part is provided with: high penetration injection holes (61, 64) through which a fuel is injected in a direction from the leading end part to between the inlet port and the exhaust port in the combustion chamber; and low penetration injection holes (62, 65, 67) through which the fuel is injected in a direction from the leading end part to the exhaust port and to the inlet port in the combustion chamber with a penetration force lower than that of the fuel injected through the high penetration injection holes.
