Abstract:
A fuel injection apparatus capable of injecting fuel by very high pressure, provides excellent combustion and exhaust characteristics, and provides fuel injection at a desired fuel injection pattern. In a fuel injection apparatus (30), a projection (61) is provided on the tip section of a piston control valve (60) provided on a pressure intensifier (54), and substantial opening area of a fuel flow passage (57) to a cylinder (56) can be varied as the piston control valve (60) moves, so that an inflow amount of fuel oil flowing into the cylinder (56) can be controlled (controlled by orifice) by the piston control valve (60). Because of the structure above, an injection rate and injection pressure of fuel that is injected from a fuel injection nozzle (34) can be controlled, and a fuel injection pattern with very high degree of freedom can be achieved.
