Abstract:
A fuel injection control device for a direct injection engine that performs homogenous combustion by injecting fuel directly into the combustion chamber and forming a homogenous air-fuel mixture in the combustion chamber, wherein, on the basis of the engine rotational velocity and load, the barycentric position during the fuel injection is set to the advanced-angle side under rotational velocity and load conditions for which the ignition timing can be set close to the MBT, and under rotational velocity and load conditions for which knocking will occur when the ignition timing is set close to the MBT, the barycentric position during the fuel injection is set to more to the retarded-angle side than the barycentric position during the fuel injection for the rotational velocity and load conditions for which the ignition timing can be set close to the MBT.
